Branch out in the world of winter sports and try something new! Or are you a horse lover feeling blue about the snow putting the kibosh your equestrian activities? A unique winter sport for horse lovers is top of everyone’s list at the Wisdom Winterfest Weeked this February 27-28, 2016!
Travel & Leisure magazine’s Number 1 Hotel in the World and Top50 ranch, Triple Creek Ranch invites you to come ‘skijoring’! This awesome snow sport is something horse-lovers AND snow bunnies can both delight in this winter season!
A Norwegian word that translates to ‘ski-driving’, skijoring is a sport where a skier is towed through the snow by a horse being ridden by one of the wranglers, as slow or as fast as you like to go! To liven up the winter days, several western mountain towns in the U.S. host skijoring races, where competitors race down a snow-packed trail in a timed event. Daredevils may apply!
One such town is Wisdom, Montana, which is about an hour’s drive from Triple Creek Ranch. One of the most memorable winter activities for Triple Creek Ranch guests is an afternoon of skijoring! On 27 February 2016, you'll take the scenic drive over to the Big Hole Valley to spend the day enjoying the races and the quirky, old-west town of Wisdom. Join in and perhaps you’ll pick up some tips from the racers to try out the next day, February 28th, when the ranch hosts their own version of the sport.
Who will be the Triple Creek Ranch Skijoring Champion, 2016?
